Long long ago (Over 10,000 years to be more specific), in a land far far away (Mesopotamia- not Endor), a little plant called Cannabis began to be cultivated.
It was strong, easy to grow, and every part of it useful. The leaves, buds, and roots had incredible medicinal benefits, the fibers of the stalks could be wound into durable and strong fabrics, and the seeds eaten as an energy packed food source.
Plants were the source of all healing at the time, and the plant with sticky flowers was discovered to have varying benefits. A healer could provide relief from everything from stomach discomfort to pain from injury to anxiety and fear.
Only the wisest healers knew what do do with the plant once gathered, and this knowledge was held in high regard. The potions and salves created were used as tools of trade and symbols of power through healing.
These people were not ones to waste anything given to them by The Earth, so it didn’t take long to discover ways to use the rest of the plant.
Tools and weapons were bound tightly with cord made from the stalk fiber, fabrics were sewn into clothing, and houses were covered with long lasting, durable cloth to protect from the elements.
These ancient people did not know the extent of the power of the plant though, for they had limited means to transform it into other products.
Thousands of years later, the same plant that was praised and sought after would be feared and stigmatized before its full potential to save the Earth was realized.
